It looks like Seagate has some pretty set packaging rules. I don't have that kind of material nor do I want to buy it from a supplier. If I put it in an anti static bag, wrap it in lots of bubble wrap and put it in a nice strong box, will they reject it?

Regardless of what anyone here sez, in lieu of following published procedure or an official response confirming other method 'twould be gambling.

That said, in an ESD bag or shell ensconced in thick foam in a tight box with that in turn packed in a shipping box crammed with peanuts and/or bubble wrap should be kosher. Got desiccant? Throw it in for flair points.

I imagine the only possible snag is rustling up the foam if not kept from previous purchases but maybe there is some local source available (shipper, bed shoppe, whathaveyou).

Buy some jerky, after savoring the goodness you will find a few desiccants.
Larger packages of eggs have large shock absorbing cardboard panels that you could use as well.

You must get the bad drive back to them intact, so they can glean your p0rn from the platters. ;)
