RMAing CPUs

i've recently sold a mobo + cpu combo on ebay that I purchased from frys. the problem is that the buyer said the cpu is defective and cannot be detected under several mobos. can i have the buyer send me back the cpu to exchange it at frys (although it has been past 30 days)? The cpu is an OEM version and is still under the 1 year warranty. will AMD give me grief if i RMA through them?

Depends on what the problem the CPU has, honestly.
I mean, if someone was a moroon and broke a pin putting it into the socket, I doubt AMD would honor it.
If it won't work for no good reason, then 99.99% chance they'll honor it.

It still as a manufacturer's warranty correct? Direct him to the manufacturer. I know it looks bad if he were really honest, but you could get screwed even more.

If he has already paid for the item, he can send it to you and then try. I guess there's no loss there.

It is still as a manufacturer's warranty. I guess i'll call amd and find out the scenario. Does anybody know if i need the receipt or the info of what heatsink was used to RMA an OEM cpu? thanks for all your help. i really appreciate it.
