So, I've been waiting for about a month solid now for a new 6800GT from Leadtek. So far I am completely unimpressed with their service. I called two weeks ago to see what the status was, and they hadn't even opened my box, because the person said they had litterally hundres of them to go through.
Newegg is going to be getting the cards back instock soon, meaning they should be shipping out the cards to people like myself who have been waiting for their RMA. However, I'm starting to doubt that it's going to happen. I'm going to be calling them on monday to see what the heck is going on, as they have been unresponsive to my emails. Legal action will be persued if no explenation is provided(Daddy's a lawyer, fun fun 🙂 ) as this is not a standard buisness practice, even according to their website, which states a replacement card should be given in 1-3 weeks.
SO, I'm wondering as to weather I should get an MSI 6600GT, or one of the 6800 NUs off of newegg. If I do end up getting my 6800GT back from Leadtek, the lesser card will goin into my 'parts bin' computer, instead of the GF 4 Ti 4800 currently in my main computer.
As far as I understand it, they NU will have a little more muscle in the higher resolution stuff, but I don't have a monitor that will go above 12x10, so it's not a problem for me. Even if I did have one that would do that, I likely wouldn't take advantage of the fact. Although both are 128mb versions, so I'm not sure.
