RMA vs "return"

On tigerdirect.ca there is an option to RMA (exchange) and to (Return). I would figure return is a better choice as I can just order a new one right away then they credit me when they receive my defective one. RMA I have to send it, wait, then wait again when they send the replacement, AND it has to be same item.

So is there a reason why not choose to just return then go order something else?

Ah I see, guess I'll live with that though since I'm paying to ship it anyway so what's an extra $20 or w/e restock fee going to do eh.
