My raptorX recently took a crap and I had to RMA it. While on the phone with the rep from WD I asked him if I was going to get the same exact model and he replied yes same one. I was surprised when I opened up the box to find a 150gb velociraptor instead of the raptorX. My guess is they don't have old raptorX (maybe even raptors) drives in stock anymore so they just send you a velociraptor. If you have a broken raptor still under warranty it might be worth it to send it in for a velociraptor.
I am very happy with the new drive it does seem faster and is a hell of a lot quieter than that old 2 stroke sounding one I had before.
It's been a while since I posted here and I can't seem to be able to log onto my old account. I forgot what email addy I used for it. If an admin could help would be great to get old account back. Send me a PM if an admin could get a chance. If not no biggie.
