I'm most likely going to be RMAing my mobo/processor back to NewEgg and hopefully get a better one the next time around. However, I have a question about the RMA process... how come I have to pay for shipping charges when it wasn't my fault that I got a bad mobo? This happened to me before and it cost me over $15 just to send back the board... is there anyway to get it shipped for free? Also, does NewEgg cross-ship?

Thank ya.

There's no way you're gonna get the shipping cost refunded. They don't cross ship. My suggestion is, order another one of whatever it is, RMA the bad stuff with the instruction to credit your card back upon receipt. It's not exactly a cross ship, because it requires an investment, but you get your stuff quicker.

Well, first they charge you a 15% restocking fee if you want a refund. And secondly, if I did it the way you suggest then I would be paying for shipping 3 times overall. Once for the initial shipment, then to ship back to them and finally for the last shipment to get back to me. That adds up to a lot of money.

actually, all you need to do is call them up by phone, ask them to reimburse you for shipping charges, and they will do it for you. the last csr i spoke to was jose, he just asks you to fax your shipping receipt to them, and they'll credit your account.
