RMA on dead hardware and mods

Well, my mobo died couple of nights ago (well, right now I can only think it is mobo, but possibly CPU) and I was wondering, if I have attached a heatsink to the southbridge and put a better than stock cooler on the northbridge, would that void the warranty?

I know those are not really "mods" but is it enough to mean they will not exchange product?

usually ..yes

Depends. Asus doesn't care if you remove the stock heatsink and put on a better one as long as you put the original back before RMA'ing and you haven't physically damaged anything. How did you attach the heatsink to the southbridge? If you used adhesive you're out of luck there.
