RMA desktop require proof of purchase receipt?

Two of my hitachi drive still have warranty till Nov 2010 shows on hitachi website under checked with serial #. But they indicated warranty are not transfer able under fine print note. Just wonder will they ask for purchase receipt when send the drives back?

Why don't you just call them and you'll know if you need the receipt or not?
