Riverside shot from last weekend :)

That scene cheers me as well - where is it? Pelicans are great subjects - especially when in a group actively fishing. They dive so uncontrollably. 🙂

I enjoyed your pelican sequence the other day 🙂

It's Matilda Bay, on the Swan River, in Perth, Western Australia 😀

Kinda thought you were in Australia. That is still on my "to do" list.

Pelicans are really great subjects. I dug through my archives and came up with some from 2003 I took with my first DSLR - the Canon EOS D60. This one shows how friendly they can be - taken in San Diego, CA.

Peli1

Then a few minutes later I got the same bird with another . . .

Peli2

And lastly, I mention the craziness that occurs when a whole flock finds a school of fish - it is kamikaze pelican chaos! This was in Loreto, Mexico harbor.

Peli3

And lastly - while walking in Santa Rosalia, Mexico, I came across this strange sight on the sidewalk. Is there a message here?

Both pics were taken with a polarizer, and i tweaked the colours very minimally on the first one (used '+3' on the sliding scale in Picture Project).

Glad some of you enjoyed them 🙂

what kind of sharpening did you use, those look very sharp , maybe a bit too much

Actually, none. They are all cropped out of shots with a EOS D60 and a Tamron DI 28-300mm f/3.5-6.3 at near max. 35mm equiv about 450mm.
