i read a post here saying that if you download and install the rivatuner driver patch, it can transform your 9500 pro card to a 9700 pro card performance wise. is this possible and how? has anyone tried it?
 
You didn't read right. Rivatuner does indeed have a "Soft9700" hack for early 9500 "non-Pro's," but not for the 9500 Pro. It worked only for early 9500's which were released using a 9500 PCB, and then it didn't always work successfully. But often it did. I was one of the lucky ones.
