Rivatuner v2.0 Release Candidate 15.6

I set my 6800LE to be overclocked to 400/850. It tested fine. However, it when I ran the hardware monitor in rivatuner, it showed 299/850.

I figured that it must need a restart, so I restarted my computer, and lo and behold, it still shows 299/850. Anyone know if this is a buffed monitor, or is it not being overclocked.

Also, what temp should I keep my core below? It's currently sitting around 81.5 C

Thanks in advance!

OUCH 81.5 is a damned hot idle temp. Try using coolbits to OC rather than Riva Tuner and see if it does the same thing.

wow that is rediculously hot....

as for the clocks, if i set my clocks to anything over 410/836 in rivatuner (test always disabled) the core refuses to clock up to 3d speed when required...i guess it thinks its drawing too much power or something. it sounds like you have the exact same problem i do. you are just going to have to find a balance between core/mem speed.

so i downstepped it to 375/850 and my temps settled down to 71c.

I wonder if better cooling would make it stable at 350. I heard that the nv50 cooler can drop a chip by 10c is that true?
