Rivatuner questions

I have a 250GTS and I just installed the Twin Turbo cooler and I connected the fan wire onto the videocard like it was before.
I think when the computer starts the video fan starts at 100%. Only when windows starts loading it goes down. Would it be possible somehow using rivatuner to make it so that it doest go at 100%?

No. The fan control starts with Riva Tuner and that activates once you're in windows.

I know my cpu fan stays at the same speed even when computer starts.
It's probably a setting in BIOS right?
Would it also be possible to access the video card BIOS and make the change?
 
I don't think you can control that in bios. It's just the way the card starts. You can bios control the fan profiles, but those will not affect what you get when you power up the pc.

What's a good fan/temp profile to set for this card? What's some "nice" idle/load temperatures to keep it at?
 
It depends. I always mess around with fan profiles depending on the overclock. I lower the temperature as much as I can, to be able to touch the highest overclock possible. For example on my 4870, I know that I have to keep the load temps bellow 65 C to be able to get my maximum core clock. Any lower then that and nothing changes, any higher then that and the oc becomes unstable. If I wasn't overclocking my card, I wouldn't probably touched the fan, maybe only if I had 90 C at load.

GTS 250 runs fairly cool from what I've heard. You don't need high rpms for those fans, to have very low temps. I'd try to obtain the best temperature at a tolerable noise value, best heat/noise ratio. It depends if you oc it or not.

no, im not overclocking it.
I was wondering if i should leave a set speed (say 30% where I get 48idle and 72load) or do custom profiles.
 
Maybe it's better to use the profiles, so that the fan spins slowly when the card idles and ramps up when you're gaming. Since you're not ocing, both options are fine.
