rivatuner question...

So I downloaded the latest version of rivatuner yesterday intending to squeeze some more juice out of my xfx 7800GT. When I got it installed and running I clicked the "Forceware" option and enabled Driver level device tuning or whatever. So anyhow, the values were all screwed up and it decided my core clock defaults to 275mhz and my memory to 700Mhz, which are obviously WAY low. The max OC settings offered were 415/1050, which are less than my stock card settings. So I cranked the settings up to 415/1050, ran 3dmark05 and my score dropped about 400 points which is what I would expect from that underclocking.

So what gives? My nvidia driver is 8195, and the rivatuner file specifically advertised 7800 series support, so why could I get it to at least recognize my proper defaults? Everything was all screwed up after this and I had to uninstall rivatuner and reinstall my drivers just to get my old clock speeds back. Anybody have any input as to what I'm doing wrong???

TIA.

OK, last bump, after this I guess I'll realize that nobody has a 7800GT that they've used with rivatuner.

this might sound weird, but try ATI Tool. I use that for o/cing all my cards (I use mainly Nvidia). It has built in artifact tester.
