Rivatuner for Ati and Nvidia

I just got a new ATI video card and I've been using Rivatuner with the old Nvidia card in my sig. I used a lot of tweaks with Rivatuner such as disabling throttling, forcing 3d performance 24/7, and unlocking the infamous unlockable pipes in the 6800 card.

Now I want to use Rivatuner to log my temps. Will the Rivatuner settings apply to my ATI card? The last thing I want to do is disable the throttle on my new card as I test the frames per second.

rivatuner can be used to set clocks of ATI card and very stats like temp and clock, but unfortunately all the nice tweaks that go along with rivatuner like the D3D and OpenGL setting and such are only for Nvidia as rivatuners is mostly for Nvidia product. The only other program that you might find useful is ATI Tray Tools. But overall i think ATI drivers and the ability to set settings via drivers or 3rd party apps "SUCK". Nvidia's control panel and driver settings in general are much better IMHO.

I don't think you understood my question.

I want to run Rivatuner in the background in order to display my temps (and other info) while in a game. That's all I want to use Rivatuner for (at least for now). But when I launch Rivatuner and go to power user, I see many changes I made while using the 6800 video card, such as disabling throttling. I made numerous changes over a year or 2 so I can't remmember everything I changed in order to reverse them manually.

If I run Rivatuer in the background, will those power user tweaks affect my current card?

I ask because I was running Rivatuner while the computer froze on me while in a game. I can't know for sure why the computer froze, but I want to think it was because I was running an old version of Rivatuner, which BTW is version 2.0.

what do u mean. is ati tray tools considered a 3rd party app? i'm asking because its working fine for me in vista-32bit. Are Ati driver 7.7s considered an ati driver? because they're also working fine for me in vista-32bit and i'm sure both work just as well in XP.

nvidia + vista = ?

to the OP:
As far as i can tell an uninstall should work, i thought there was a reg file to help but that is only for NVStrap.

LOUISSSSS,
Yes ATI Tray Tools is 3rd party as ATI does not make them, a 3rd party = not affiliated with ATI.
What does it being 3rd party have to do with vista?
Yes ATI drivers are made by ATI? lol?
Again vista?
I am sure they work great in winXP also?
nvidia + vista = ?, what does my post have to do with vista again?

I've just upgraded from an 1800xl to an 8800gts and while am extremely happy with the card your talking complete crap there!

Riva tuner is good but it's not any better than ATI tray tool (I prefere ATI TT but thats probably because I'm more used to it).
And for all CCC's faults its better than the NV CP.
