Rivatuner Fanspeed controls not working

Ok, i have an EVGA 7800gt CO (516) card, and i got tired of the fan noise on the card, so i decided to use rivatuner to change the fan speed. Stock settings are to run the card at 43% fan speed across the board, but i decided to go with 33% for 2d, 43% for low lvl 3d, and 50% for high lvl 3d (since i don't care about noise during games), the problem is that the card won't go back down from 50% after exiting a game. Any ideas as to what is going on here? Should i just back everything down to 33% and call it a day, or is there something else i'm doing wrong.

I get this too. It seems to be a driver bug; the cards go back to the 2D speed eventually, but it can take as long as 15 minutes after closing the game for that to happen. I just leave the fans at 33% all the time. The load temperatures only differ by a degree or so anyway.

Yea, the problem that i've noticed is that the speed of my videocard fan has a direct impact on how hot the northbridge on my comp gets, and thus how fast that fan goes, during games, and with my mobo laid out the way it is I don't have any real way of replacing the stock heatsink there.
