I have an 8600gt video card. Latest Nvidia drivers. Not overclocking til I figure out how to make the fan speeds work right. I'm playing around with fans and temps. I used one of those guides to set up fan speed with regards to core temp. 40% fan for(50degrees-56.9),60(57-63.9),80(64-69.9),100%(70-90) settings. I'm testing temps and fan using 3dmark06 and monitoring with rivatuner.
But rivatuner only works 70% of the time. It's like the video card? or drivers? are fighting back against Rivatuner. The video is saying-No I'm not running at 100% when I'm over 75 degrees. I'll run at 30%. Then once I shut down 3dmark06 after a few minutes Rivatuner is able to take over again and fan speeds are at 60%
