There's a new version of RivaTuner available. This version gives access to the hidden fast Direct3D anisotropic filtering setting that the detonator 3030 drivers support. Previously the setting was only available for OpenGL (2890s and onwards).

Can you tell me which setting( I assume under "Power User") that is?
I used the Open GL Aniso patch script and the LOD patch scriptaccording to instructions. I have the 30.30 installed and working fine.

Where is this Hidden Fast Direct3d AF setting? I can't find it. I'm running 30.30's, and I really don't see a difference from RT2 RC11.0

Thanks.

well these settings are at first very difficult to comprehend. In direct 3d,under the aniso settings there is an optimize button. Here's what you should do to get a decent performance boost. Set your aniso to whatever you want it, then click the optimize tab. Check boxes 1,2,3 and DON"T CHECK BOX 0 and set all those boxes to 1. This should give a nice boost, but beware in certain games IQ does go down so you might have to set some of those boxes up to 2.

Thanks, but for some reason, I cannot get into "Optimize", as its just faded out gray.

If you're having problems with getting fast anisotropic filtering to work in OpenGL run the OGL patch script that comes with RivaTuner and it'll patch nVidia's OpenGL ICD to force fast anisotropic filtering in all OpenGL applications.

Direct3D anisotropic filtering seems to be faster in Red Faction, Undying and both Microsoft Combat Flight Simulators with the new optimisations but I can't tell exactly by how much as all of the Direct3D games I have don't have proper benchmarks.

Where is this Hidden Fast Direct3d AF setting?
In the place where you select the texture anisotropic in Direct3D there's a button below the dropdown called "optimize" which takes you to the new options.

I see "optimize", but I cannot click it, any reason why?
Do you have the 3030s installed?

If so, did you correctly remove all traces of your previous drivers before installing them?
