Windows XP Service Pack two puts a pop-up blocker into IE, tightens up all the activeX settings, and blocks automatic downloads from scripts on web pages. SP2 also adds actual functionality to Windows XP's integrated firewall and allows you to allow/disallow certain programs internet access. At least, this is all in Release Candidate 2 of the WinXP SP2.

my IE2 is perhaps the worst POS bloatware i have ever used, i take Firefox and disable tabs and all the other crap to make it work and look like internet explorer just so i can have adblock, when someone makes a freeware tool that works as well as adblock, i will switch back to Internet Explorer in a heartbeat

How could you!

This is what makes Firefox great; it can be easily customized to each person's preferences

myIE2 didn't have the smae tabbed browsing experience as Firefox, I couldn't middle click to open and close tabs and in general it just wasn't as pleasent as Firefox, but that is only based on my experience with it...Firefox remains my browser of choice.

and to the guy that said Firefox takes over the computer, how is this done? I have had no problem with either browser, even using them at the same time...
