Trying to make my first poll post.

Title says it all. What effect, if any, does and type of ritual marking have upon you.

(Ritual marking may contain the following: tattoos, branding and or piercing. Your mileage may vary and there are no warranties or guaranties expressed or implied)

Oh, and personally I'm not a fan.

Why damage your body?

Well that is my opinion also but I was curious. I have friends and relatives with, well, all of the above and it has always befuddled me.

I speak with them and I always say that I have enough scars just from my life and I feel no need to add to them but to each their own I suppose.

Meh... It's overdone. I don't have a problem with it in general, but a lot of it is illconceived. Shitty wall art drawn by hacks, and holes installed just cause they can. I'd like to see more thought and restraint.

I have 2 sisters and a brother who are all heavily tatted up..i won't mention my nieces/nephews/cousins who are all tattooed up.

I'm the only one who doesn't have a tattoo...I blame it on the fact that I'm an artist and can't imagine someone else putting their shit on my body.

Interesting, I can see your point. I've seen some Asian full body tattoos for instance that I thought were very outstanding and artistic. And the Maori (not sure if i spelled that right) but I do like their warrior markings but then again that is within their culture.

While I am not an artist in any way, shape or form I fully understand what you are saying.

And I too have family members that have tattoos. None that are pierced or branded to my knowledge. And I'm fine in my ignorance if such is the case.

Ok, now that is twice.

I am not a returned banned member.

I am simply weak, tired and afraid and I failed myself and finally made an account here.

Clearly, if you are going to have a "STFU new guy" choice you might as well not make a poll.

Really? I don't see the logic there. And to start with "Clearly"?

But you seem to be a moderator so perhaps you should elucidate me upon the common mannerisms that are expected of an esteemed member of this site. I may have over stepped my bounds and not known it.

I was simply pointing out that, given the opportunity, the large majority of respondents will choose "STFU new guy," thereby invalidating the rest of the poll. I, like many others, chose "STFU new guy." Not because I actually wanted a new guy to shut up, although I often do, but just because how could you not choose "STFU new guy?" Should be obvious.

And I stand duly corrected sir. Very well put.

I however would choose differently but then I'm an odd bird.

Depends on "Ritual" and just how much real estate it takes. Small Tats are one thing, your whole body as a canvas is nasty.

...but srsly, wwybywb

Better edit your avatar.

hypocrite :colbert:

I'd post my opinion, but I'll just reference lxskllr's instead. A quality tattoo can be impressive but, as they say, 90% of everything is shit.

Oh and I should say that I consider any personal body modification as "ritual marking".

I should have defined that in my first post and for the lack of that I apologize.

Most people that sign up and go straight to OT are either spammers or RBMs, sometimes both. Also it's kindof a hazing thing.
