Congo's war began in 1998, and has killed an estimated three million people

"When we came back to retrieve the body three days later, we saw they had taken the tongue and heart from my son," he said. "They also ripped off his genitals. From that I am convinced that people kill and they eat."

"When they killed my mother they cut off both her hands and her legs from the knee,"

"They cut her breasts off and grilled them and the heart too,"

Nitemare - this has details though

yeah.... i'd say so

Another U.N. failure.

The UN is sending troops.

Yeah....that will help a lot....the UN mission there has been an total failure so now they want to send in troops in their shiny white armored cars and fashionable powder blue berets. That will make things sooooooo much better. I mean it's been proven time and time again that the UN is great at keeping attrocities from happening. Just look at how well they did in the Balkans.....

The UN is sending troops.

This is really the place where we ought to have sent our troops.
So it's not ok to send our troops into Iraq where the people have been brutalized, tortured, raped, killed, etc and where the dictator has invaded other countries and given aid to terrorists......but it's ok to send our troops to the Congo where people have been brutalized, tortured, raped, killed, and eaten. I see your point....from now one we only send in troops when one group of people is going after the other with forks and steak knives. Makes perfect sense.....

There's a big difference. Congo is a current situation that is out of control, Iraq wasn't. Besides, Iraq has WMD, remember?
