RITEK vs MEMOREX

I need some DVD discs and it seems that RITEK and Memorex are the popular ones. Which one do you guys recommend?

I would opt for DVD+R, they are so much cheaper/burn faster. Ritek 100PK 4xDVD+R is $25 after $10 MIR at newegg. Dirt cheap, most will do 8X, but if you get lucky like I did, it will do 12x.🙂

I don't think Memorex even makes media. So Ritek. It's average, but at least you're not getting CMC.
Taiyo Yuden if you want them to last.

Got a link ? I can;t find it

Uhh, Memorex DVDs are actually made by either CMC or Ritek...so there's a 50% chance they're the same thing.

Ricoh > Ritek > CMC however.

That 50% also means there's a 50% chance that you would get absolute crap.
Having had CMC CDs give out after mere months...don't take a chance of CMC. I read their DVDs are of similar quality, but I'm not going to find out myself!

I've always had good luck with Memorex media, but I always use DVD+R for the faster burning speeds and DVD-ROM bitsetting (my Lite-on supports BS).

The best media I've found lately is TDK 4x DVD+R media. It's Ricoh and burns fine at 8x with no errors.

I had some Memorex DVDs. They are not that great, must have gotten the CMC one. Just order 100 Ritek from newegg. Hopefully they are better. Nowaday, it doesn't matter if it is + or -, even for movie. I prefer + cause it can burn faster.

Odd. All three of the 50 DVD+R spindles of Memorex I got are Ricoh. Quality stuff and never had a bad disc!
