I just got my order of Ritek (matte top) G04 100 pk from shop4tech. Riteks have been going downhill I heard of late, but the ones I got are pretty nice. They came in 2 50pk spindles with the RiData red covering around the spindle. The centers of the disc have RiData label on the clear part. The purple dye on the bottom of the disc looks nicely and evenly spread, and darker than the cheaper dvd-r disc. Having used cheap sonic disc, the bottom dye of these ritek disc remind me of the ones found on retail dvd movies, but just with a nice deep violet color. I just burned 2 of these discs with a 2 disc dvd movie on my Liteon 411S FSOF firmware and the results are great. Using kprobe, I got these results:
Disc 1:
PI max: 48
PI avg: 19
PO max: 2
PO avg: .2
Disc 2:
PI max: 58
PI avg: 15
PO max: 2
PO avg: .1
Usually discs with PI avg results over 100 are not that good of a burn. Avg results of around 800 or above are probably unreadable. The sonics I used before gave me a avg PI of usually 250. Experts of liteon dvd burners tell me that a quality burn usually has a PI avg of less than 80. Well these got me less than a quarter of that number!
