I made 2 purchases of what I thought were Ritek G04 DVD-R discs. They both are indentified in DVD Identifier as RiketG04. One of the batches has troubles in my DVD players.
The first batch, is labeled RiData on the disk. It was a more retail looking cake box, probabably from Amazon or NewEgg. My others have no indicators on the discs and have a matte finish. I purchased these from Meritline as I have purchased before.
The RiData ones appear to burn ok, but I get pixilation here and there in my backups. The "generic" Ritek appear to be more reliable. The RiData ones look like the purplish die is a bit sloppy into the middle ring. The thing that bugs me is that they both show up as the EXACT same media in the identifier.
Anyone else have troubles with RiData branded DVD-R, over the generic Ritek ones? So far I think my PC DVD drives read the RiData ones ok so I may just use those for data backups.
