Now I know ritek is one of the best for DVD-R purchases in terms of quality, but I wonder if they hold the same crown in the CD-R arena. Can anyone comment?

i think as long as you stick to name brands, it should not be a problem

I wouldn't worry too much about brands for CD-Rs. Most CD-Rs work pretty well... after so many years of making them, they should at least get them right very often.

yeah, ritek has always been among the best. They use those dark blue inks rather than the light green ones. I have no idea what that means, but in my experience, the dark blue CD's tend to read better when scratched up.

tdk sucks. my tdk 100 pack spindle cd-r are moser baer. i get over 2.1-2.2 average c1 corruption with this crap. these are the ones with red packaging. 100 pack for around $20-$30.(i got mine for 24.95 and for that price i expect something not in the leauge of CMC.
