Seems like a lot of users can't even play the game http://steamcommunity.com/app/249230/discussions/0/35220315959560960/
Don't know how that got past beta testing and QA control.
Its 96% positive steam rating right now.

So issue seems to be 6 cores and above..CON♥♥♥♥IGNFIRMED
This game cannot run when more than 4 cores are runnning. I had to rerun my cores just to play it You can do this too
Temporary Fix till they PATCH IT
> Go to Start
>Type MSCONFIG in run box
> Click on "Boot" tab button then "Advanced
> Click on the arrow that says "Number of processors" set the cores
Restart computer and game should work
How dare they make me shut down my 3960x cores
Looks like my 2500k cpu is safe,
So issue seems to be 6 cores and above..
Ouch. :/
Something that devs will need to make sure they check in testing . . . they're not going to get very far if their game coughs up a lung on 6+ cores.![]()
Amazes me how that got through QA, not like six or eight cores are rare.
Also ironic Steam community found those bugs and temporary fixes for the game within hour or so,maybe developers should use Steam community for beta testing for Risen 4.
According to the Steam Hardware Survey, they are rare. 48% of people have dual cores, and 43% have quads. The remainder is split between single cores(3.27%) and hex/octo skus(4.61%). One could probably say the people with hex core CPUs are more tech savvy, though they could just be cheap people who bought AMD FX 6xx0 parts.
Quick question since I never could bring myself to finish Risen 2.
When was it revealed Patty is your sister? I thought they were insinuating other things there.
I believe in Risen 3 you play a new main character ( not same one from 2) and patty is your sister in Risen 3.
Oh I'm going to play it for sure, but as a rule I never play new games until a few patches have been released.Does not seem many members here playing the game,I've just got my Steam key so pre-downloading the game for tomorrow(EU release date is 15th).
I let you guys know tomorrow what I think of the game.

Just played a bit of Risen 3, this is not my type of RPG. Its clunky, its boring, the fighting is poorly executed and nothing about the game feels real. Honestly its more linear than "open" and nothing really strings together well. I even tried to explore cliffs and ended up getting stuck in one and had to restart the game from quite a while back, decided to give up at that point lol. This type of RPG is definitely appealing to some, but not me, this is absolute trash.
So how's the combat? Is it still Risen cluncky or did they actually improve it?
