I've read a good amount about this game and seen a lot of videos. It looks really cool to begin with, but I love RGPs and historical (myth type games and so fun) games. The concept is very intriguing and playing with Hercules, Achilles, etc. is pretty cool.

I just haven't seen to much press/ads and such for the game and its coming out in 2 weeks. I hope the game doesnt turn out to be like a 6/10 with bugs and repetitive combat.

Anyone know anything more about it? or want it :)

Yes, I've seen the trailer and some videos on Youtube. I must agree that the game looks really good graphically and does looks promising. I loved the way ancient Greece was brought to life in the trailers. I'm not aware about the release date, could'ntfind anything on Wikipedia also!

its weird I see 12/19/08 but then some places it says 12/19/09.

I read a little while ago that it was during Jan '09 and I think it was pushed up so I'm hoping it is this month

Will there be a PC version? I don't have any of the consoles (except a PS2).

Ah yeah I meant the 16th...then when you look at the PC is says at the top 12/16/08 then halfway down the page it says 12/16/09. Really pissed if its '09 but I can't see them releasing it a year after the console especially when they are developing it during the same time period.

I googled and checked some sites, it's 12/16/2008, so it's 12 days now. Wonder what the system requirements are to run it. Hope my 9500GT can pull it off!

Even if it does release on the 16th it'll be a little while till it arrives at my place. Hoping it'll be a great game! Cheers! :)

Also, the system requirements (for PC) have not yet been specified.

Yes, I agree. The gameplay trailer does look fantastic. Here's a little video I saw the other day about the game:

What are your views about the combat system? Although the approaches to combat are a tad different don't they seem a bit repetitive?

If they let you butcher your foes like they have butchered the myths they are using, it should be pretty exciting.

Oh well, it was good enough for Harryhausen.....

The combat looks more geared towards a cinematic feel. One of the previews I looked at stated that you will have different moves for different enemies, though that might only be for bosses. The motions of the characters are not overly exaggerated compared to what the Japanese like to see in fighting games, it has more of a believable feel to it while giving you a sense of the power power behind that blow from a mace. As long as it's still a challenge but with good controls then this will work great but some of the gameplay I've seen shows the motions as rather jerky. What I would like to see most is the option to have a cinematic replay of the battle you just had, so a added challenge is to make it look damn cool.

Add co-op/multiplayer and this will game will truly be awesome with the tag teaming moves in some of the videos.

i feel like this game could be sooo good...just worried that it'll get like a 5-6 rating with a boring story, repetitive combat and confusing experience system. I just see that being possible. I really hope that its been pushed back so much that they had more time to polish it and it works out nicely.

Yes, that combat is where I got little taken back at first. But, oh well, it seems that it might just be good specially as ZzzGuy mentioned in his post that there might be different moves for different enemies. I loved the soundtrack in most of the videos I saw though...:)

Ok, picked this up cheap, probably at 3/4 through it at this point, my mini-review:

Aside from the massive amount of slowly spoken and uninteresting dialogue (which you can skip through with a button press) and the developer's odd decision to make you run for vast stretches from one place to another without encountering anything, this is a fairly solid game. Note however, that the above 2 problems persist for the entire game and if you are not a patient sort, you will go batshit insane playing this.

That said, the combat is quite fun, controls well implemented and tight, the upgrade options fairly impressive and the graphics nicely detailed, even if the animation is lacking in spots (jason running down stairs...no, just no.)

Worth a bargain bin pickup, I'd say if you see it for $10-15 go for it. If you're into greek mythology add another few points.

I see newegg has it for $16 no tax/free shipping.

Thanks, I may pick this up. The video review for it reminds me of Viking:Battle for Asgard which I liked. While he said you only need 2 or 3 moves to beat the enemies, I tend to master all the possible combos and weapons a game offers anyways.
