Be the Bantu. Twice the population limit = twice the devastation of the enemy. Also, use the infinite queue and the feature that allows newly created units to join already existing groups. It makes controlling your military much easier and efficient. If you are playing against human opponents, sabotage as much as possible. It will piss anyone off.

Lol, not really.

Every nation has some good advantages and disadvantages.

Plus a larger army in RoN doesn't ensure victory. Countless times I've beaten off an army 2x -3x the size of mine with good generalship.

I'm trying to decide whether to get this or Freelancer with my 1000 points I got from the hot deals thread about free software for retail workers. (or former ones in my case ;)) I suppose I could just take the extra 20 mintes to earn another thousand and get them both. :)

I'm aware that each nation has it's advantages, I own the game. That said, If you roll in with an extra 100 military units, your chances of winning are greatly increased. Of course nothing is guaranteed.

Also, not all nations are created equal. Some nations clearly have more useful advantages.

I play as the Mongols and they are really good at attacking.
I also won for the first time last night against Skypilot.
Make sure you rub it in if you talk in one of his threads

remember one thing, if you have two armies that can attack an undefended country you overrun it, no battle and you can attack another country somewhere else, so you can gain two countries per turn or more

How do you do this queue thing? I tried in the demo and can't figure out how to make soldiers automatically go into a particular army. Maybe I just stink (but I can win on the easy setting) :p

Click on any building that produces units. At the bottom of the screen there is a little green bar that shows progress being made on unit creation. Directly to the right of it is a small infinite symbol. Click it to enable infinite queue. It will continue to produce units until the resources needed for production are gone. To make soldiers automatically join a group, click on the building they are produced from and then right click on any unit already part of a group. Newly produced units will join that group. Edit: It should confirm the action with a message at the top of the screen.

So far I've just played the trial version.. Kind of a fun game; much faster paced than Civ3.

It's nice at the beginning. But the longer the game lasts the less useful it becomes. After awhile you need an army, not 100 more workers. I guess it just seems a lot more useful that it really is, at least for me.

How can you not be good at it, it's so easy! Completed the thing in less than a day, russia being the hardest opponent due to their homeland advantage (your army's health decreases when attacking in their 'area').

Basically expand as fast as possible.

And you played it on the toughest difficulty level?

Haha! True, that, especially on a large map in the late game.
