RIS services

hi,
i want to setup a RIS windos 2000 server to store desktop images and to install them to the workstations that crashed.

can anyone guide me how to do it?

Go to Technet and do a search for RIS - you'll find all sorts of information on how to set it up.

can RIS still work, if i don't have access to Acrive directory?
