Ripping songs from an ipod, and transferring files b/w two computers

I just purchased a new computer. I need to transfer my files that I have on this computer onto my new one. How do I set up like a FTP between the two computers?

Also, I have a lot of my songs on my ipod that are on my computer. It might be easier if I could just rip those songs onto my computer. Does anyone know of any freeware that allows me to do this?

well i can tell you how to rip to a different computer without itunes getting mad, under folder options set it to view hidden folders then open up whatever drive your ipod is and your music should be in one of the folders.
