Apparently I can't rip "on the fly" because my Ricoh MP7060a and Aopen 12x DVD player are using the same IDE cable. I have an EPOX 8K7A mobo; what should I do? Is it possible for me to connect the CDRW and Hard drive using the same IDE cable, and keep the DVD drive (master) on a seperate cable?

I'd keep the cdrw as the master on the secondary channel. and the dvd as the slave on that same channel. Also I wouldn't rip on the fly.

VerbalKint, plz explain to me why I ought to set it up like that. (keep in mind I use the DVD player is my main drive, it's faster for reading regular cd's and plays dvds). Any why not rip it on the fly (such a setup could also provide me to get data from hard drive and CDROM at the same time)?

You definitely do not want the Hard drive and the CDRW on the same channel. Its up to u whether you put the cdrw as master or slave on the secondary channel put companies esp plextor recommend having it as master. And as far as on the fly is concerned, don't do it. Thats how a lot errors are introduced esp. pops, clicks, etc and it can lead to buffer underruns.
