Ripping audio tracks from a dvd

A friend of mind was wondering if it possible to rip audio off a dvd. The dvd programs i use only could reauthor it so there might be other dvd program out there. My second idea was to use some sort sound recorder program, definitely not the window's one but yeah. Which would be easier of the two options unless there is something else that either easier or better.

as mentioned dvd decryptor or smartripper can do it, i don't remember the exact wording but there's a checkbox somewhere that mentions enable streams, you have to uncheck the video/subs and only check the desired stream in the language you want, then you decrypt. probably you'll get an ac3 file, which you can convert to mp3 or whatever using belight:

or besweet

I wanted to know the same thing... tried DVD Decrypter but that just gave me a .VOB file no matter what I tried and I couldn't figure out how to convert that.

So I tried DVD Audio Extractor as Hurricane Andrew suggested and it worked beautifully.

In DVD Decrypter, if I remember right, you need to use IFO mode, enable stream processing, and maybe have it demux all tracks. Something like that. That should give you a nice AC3 file.
