Anyone know how to do this I've been at doom9, but can't seem to find something specific for that. Any help would be awesome.
Thanks

I tried besweet, but just got gibberish in the wav I ripped. I ripped the first vob if that matters, couldn't find a tutorial on how to rip just the audio and keep it in DD form

use smartripper. go to "stream processing" and select just the ac3 stream. it should be saved as "*.ac3"

what do you want to play it on? zoomplayer will play an ac3 track.

I tried the stream processing in smart ripper, but it gives me a vob file I can't figure out how to save it as an ac3 file. I read that tutorial, but doesn't say how to save it as an ac3 file. THanks for your help so far

you need to use dvd2avi to process the vob. It will separate out the audio file and save it in ac3 format and you can either use Zoom Player to listen to it or process it to an Mp3 using besweet.

First you have to rip the movie with something like DVDdecrypter.

Open the VOB files with DVD2AVI

Under the audio tab, select the track you want make sure it is set to "demux" the dolby digital section.

Under file, select save project. Once it's finished doing it's thing, you will have an ac3 file of the whole movie.

I don't know what you would use to edit an ac3 file.

Under audio select "demux all tracks" and then simply hit F4 to save the project and it will separate the audio for you and save it as an AC3 file

well last night I ripped the dvd using smartripper, and than used dvd2avi to rip a wav off of it, but all I got was the first minute of the disc over and over, it was a 400mb file, so not sure if it was played over and over, or of it just couldn't get past the first track.

I now have a file with a .dts extension, but all the tuturials only deal with an AC3 DD file. Anyone know what to do with a .DTS file?
Thanks

How'd you get the .dts file?

I just used smartripper to rip the .vob files, then I used flask for the rest. Set flask to make some video file (doesn't matter the details of this) and then under audio use "direct stream copy" and save it to a named file. The named file is your .ac3 track.

Only problem I have now is how to chop up the .ac3 file into songs.

I used dvd decrypter and ripped the dts track, and it saved it as a .dts file. I also could have ripped the ac3 tracks, but I wanted to have dts...
