Ripped off by escrow site and a guy - NEED HELP ** UK MEMBERS LOOK **

I sold some things to a guy whom emailed me from ebay. The person had 100% ratings and over 300 feedback. I think the person used this other ebayers ID to get me to believe they were reputable. I made a deal and used an escrow site... ive never used escrow before and didnt realize the amount of fraudulent sites that were out there. Long story short, i shipped my goods and i recently find out that the escrow site is fake and that the guy is probably involved with it. So now he has my stuff and i have no money. Is there anything i can do legally? Whom can i contact? Please someone help me... yes i know im a stupid mofo for not checking into the site before i did the deal and ive beat myself senseless. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Bump. Because I hate scam artists.

Contact Ebay and give them all the details. I'm not saying that they will do anything but it's worth a try. At least they will be aware of them problem. I am sure someone here can give you an ebay address of the right person/people to contact.

toant103 informed me that this guy has been around and hes tried to rip other people off. if anyone has any details like emails, addresses, or anything like that please repond here or pm me. no one should be cheated out of their hard earned money and i would hate to have this happen to anyone else.

not sure where you can get a calling card for UK, but I'm sure if you call your long distance provider and tell them you'll be making a bunch of calls overseas, they'll give you a special rate for about 3 bucks per month.

Thats what i did for the phillipines, standard rate was like 2.50 per minute, i got it knocked down to 24 - for a 3 dollar a month fee.

Now i just buy philippine phone cards from the asian market.

Any update on the situation?

no luck so far... have two more sources for help and after that ill be giving up because theres no investigating authority that you can directly contact in a case like this. most likely ill hear from someone months from now when the guy is long gone.

This guy tried to buy 2 Dell Inspiron notebooks from me about a month ago. He also request we use escrow, but I never went through the deal for some reason. I can forward you the e-mails he sent me if it helps. Hope you nab this jerk.
