Ripjaws vs. Archon/Megahalems

Looking for a quick answer while the Ripjaws Shell Shocker is still active:

Does anyone know if the Ripjaws heat spreaders interfere with the fans on the Thermalright Archon or Prolimatech Megahalems on P67 boards? I can see examples of them clearing heat spreaders on various AMD boards and older Intel boards, but I thought someone said the RAM sockets were closer to the CPU socked on P67 boards. The target motherboard would be one of the ASUS P8P67s.

Anyone have some experience here? Photos? A video? Drunken bar fable from a work buddy?

(Reposted from the Hot Deals forum, as this is probably the better forum to ask... may the forum gods forgive me)

I heard a guy in a bar mention that it'd be very close to the push fan, but would work just fine.

I went with the Sniper RAM for this reason (and the reviews were nearly all good, for what they're worth on Newegg).

I don't have the Archon, but I just barely got the Silver Arrow to fit, and I think that it's the same 140mm fan. The first one is sitting right on top of them, and the side panel still clears it, but it's really close.

Depends on the width of your case, though -- if you've got something really wide like a 600T, it might not matter.

Well, I hope they work.

...because I just ordered them... With Windows 7 Pro because it will still ship for free.

I had picked the Sniper RAM, too. However, 2x2x4GB of Sniper (1333) RAM was $170 and 4x4GB of Ripjaws X (1600) was $135. I didn't really want the heat spreaders, but I'm not sure that avoiding the spreaders was worth the $35.

I'm okay with the fan touching. If its an issue, I'll just move it to the rear and put a 120mm fan in front. Odd configuration, but it's a plan. I was more worried about them outright interfering with them.

The plan is to wait for the Fractal Design Arc Midi which I've already confirmed to have enough space for the Archon.

The fun part is that I'm not even set on the Archon. I just know its possible and I want to leave my options open. I'll do more research and if its an issue, I'll just pick a different heat sink.

I have a p8p67, Thermalright Archon and Corsair Vengeance which are taller than Ripjaws. 2 sticks fit just fine. If I want to populate all four slots they wont fit. Ripjaws you might be able to populate all four slots but it looks a little tight.

Meh, just ghetto mod all of it, cardboard and all - I'm pretty sure you nobody has info on that but there's a solution anyway ;)

I suppose the missing bit of information here is that I was buying a 4x4GB set. So, yeah: All four slots filled.

Doesn't matter all that much in the end. The Archon was overkill anyway, and if I'm worried about clearance, I should be fine with a Venomous-X or MUX-120 (Black).
