RIP Willie Mays

Great hitter (and a home run hitter), very fast runner, covered center field, stole a lot of bases. Hell of exciting! And that smile!

Most famous highlight was him catching a fly ball to center over his head while running dead away from home plate at full speed.

As a life-long Mets fan some of my earliest baseball memories were watching him .... saw him play @ Shea stadium with my dad several times.

One of, if not the best outfielder I've ever seen play the game to this day and IN his day (with the possible exception of Mickey Mantle) about the best "clutch" hitter too.

Willie was my favorite ballplayer growing up.
No one was as good as Willie.⚾
