He's been in poor health for a while now. He was fighting cancer and plans for a tour later this year were cancelled abruptly. It looks like they knew the end was near.

RIP Ronnie. He was a great singer.

Damn, that's part of my youth right there. Rocking to DIO, Van Halen, White Snake (the earlier stuff, before the glam rock phase), Black Sabbath, Scorpions, Iron Maiden, AC/DC, and others.

I had to survive a month out of the country with Holy Diver, Iron Maiden's The Number of the Beast and a huge Sony Walkman.
