A lot of folks probably don't recognize the name but he wrote some memorable songs including one of the arguably best anti-war protest for the 60s, Eve Of Destruction

P.F. Sloan, a songwriter known for penning tracks like Johnny Rivers’ “Secret Agent Man” and Barry McGuire’s “Eve of Destruction,” died Sunday evening after receiving a pancreatic cancer diagnosis just weeks ago. He was 70.
