I almost never sell a vehicle. I "drive 'em till the wheels are square." Well, that day has come for our van. It's not starting, and I suspect the fuel pump, which is mounted in the mid gas tank. A tank which can only be filled halfway or it will leak. The rear tank stopped being used last year, when its fuel pump assembly sprang a leak. Rust has done it in, and it's time to let it go. It's a milestone, which happens only once in a blue moon around here.

The fellow driving the flat bed was supposed to come yesterday, but failed to show. I pulled the title at that time and noticed the day it was signed over to us was February 16th, 1995. Guess it's only fitting that he pick it up this evening instead. 🙁

It's been used as a work truck for the last four years or so. Only reason I didn't part with it sooner, is because it's so damn handy for hauling stuff. Well, my 20 year old utility trailer is also borked, so one good trailer can do what I need for a few more decades, and not require the maintenance of a big old truck.

That is not a rusty as my Chevy Van, with 283,000+ miles.
{it was a company truck before I bought it}

Bummer, are you going to replace it with another Full size Van?

See you are thinking of a trailer,
what wil tow the trailer>??

You should have put it up on blocks and run some power to it, would have made a nice little Apartment. 😉

Must be an Ohio thing...

The only time I have ever heard an expression related to square wheels was after our car was parked in -30F overnight. The next morning, the tires where frozen with a flat spot so the car clunked down the road for a few blocks until the tires became round again.

you could have dropped the factory tanks and installed an aftermarket fuel cell for a few hundred.
That's assuming my "diagnosis" is correct. It would have cost me a tow to get it to a shop, who would figure out the problem. Could have been computer related, or any one of several other possibilities.

Corrosion was obscene. Brake & fuel lines were toast. Body was a mess. It's always been a pain to work on anyway, due to it being a van. Simple jobs like swapping a battery would leave my hands cut and bleeding, from trying to squeeze into the tight compartment. Some spark plugs were accessible only by removing a wheel. I won't miss that crap.
