The hub and the bearing are integrated in a rear Corolla drum assembly. I would not agree to servicing it at all. This is likely them just using FUD on you when the part is perfectly fine.

It should be a tad "stuck" in there due to rust if it is the original.

Direction doesn't matter for bearings; reverse has to work too. You loosen the parking brake, and normal operation is that the wheel spins with just enough resistance from the shoes to stop it in maybe three spins regardless of direction.

I suspect the rear bearings are fine. If they aren't, they did some sabotage. That should be evident though, as the rear hub will show evidence of tampering.

I also think they're lying about "better than OEM". They probably get supplies from a major chain store like Advance Auto Parts, and I highly doubt their parts are better than OEM.
