Is there a format like mp3 for music...that applies for dvd video..?

I am trying to rip a music dvd with video clips to my hard drive...

1. what format can i use for max quality and min size?

2. What program can i use to do that?

its ac3/dts compressed audio. its not dvd audio high definition or anything. its just normal video quality.

i do not want to rip dvd to mp3 music format...

the whole video clip in a format like avi, divx, mpeg or something similar...which i don't know which one is the best...

If you're looking to keep the video clips, then just rip the DVD to your hard drive using DVD Decrypter, then load that up using AutoGK which will convert the video to either DivX or XviD

well i recommend a prog called "Fairuse Wizard"
It's easy and automatic, uses what many consider the best free video codec (x264), and the audio will be compressed into ogg or mp3 with the bitrate of your choice. You can rip chapter by chapter so you'll get seperate files for each song if that's what your're after
