I wish he had gotten more attention in the media, as he did more to advance computing than Steve Jobs (RIP).

It's confirmed -- NY Times, ACM Tech News, ZDNet, etc.

The K&R book was the bible for C for at least a decade, it's what I learned it with too.

C and Unix begat C++ and Linux, so he had quite an effect on the world with just those two.

He did not even mention Dennis Ritchie today.
