I'm pretty sure he did crunch that but I was thinking about more recently crunched projects, I thought I noticed his name in a BOINC project in recent months. Although maybe it was a static account.....

I decided to google boinc & dennilfloss, I found this thread posted by him in the GPUgrid forum (only end of April)....... err that's assuming it's not 1 of us as a tribute name! Hmm, maybe I'll look next week.

That one is biodoc 🙂

Hmmm ... I hadn't realized that forum post names would change also!

Now that I think more about this, I am going to change back to my own handle ... I might have posted something rude somewhere that I would not want someone that searches for "dennilfloss" to think it was he that posted!

Yea same here, in the MW@H fundraising thread I needed to explain to a MW scientist/developer (Sidd) that I wasn't dennis & why I had changed my name, he was fine about it & sent his condolences.
I decided not to change my name back but I have put my original name in my signature, I wanted to put an explanation in there too but I don't have room.

The last two links in my previous post will assist you if you wish to leave a message of condolence to his family; I and a couple others from Anandtech and DSL Reports have already done such. 🙂

Just logged in after about 15 months away and I found this thread.
Dennis gave me my first invitation to Distributed Computing well over 10 years ago.
It was an adventure Ill never forget in D2OL. Dennis was just a year younger than me.
Very sad to find this out, and I salute you old friend and hope you found the Lord in your lifetime.

God bless Dennis
John

I haven't been around in a long time, but I remember Denis as always being kind and welcoming. Rest in peace, old friend.

RIP. I have long since retired from DC, but Dennilfloss got me started back in 1999 with SETI, and I had a fun couple of years. Life is short...

A nice CPU like that & you're not crunching!😱

😉

On a serious note though, good to see old friends/comrades post & pay respects.
Though saying creepy isn't! 😛
