Well, I've been a member of AT for quite some time now. I spend most of my time in FS/FT, but I wanted to post this somewhere to let my Dad know I'm thinking of him.

He took his own life 3 years ago today, and I still miss him very much.

I'd like to make this for everyone who has lost someone they care for dearly.

And no, this isn't some lame joke.

My condolences. :(

It's amazing how much it hurts to lose someone, even years later. :(

My father passed away three weeks ago, Oct. 2nd, of Lou Gehrig's disease (ALS). After being one of his care givers for the past few years, it's very different now that he's gone.

Sorry to hear about your dad, hopefully he taught you well before he passed.

I'm sorry to hear about that.

Parents live on in their children, so you carry half of your dad with you. Be sure to tell your kids what a great father he was. Consider writing memoirs or making a scrapbook. So many people who died 40 or more years ago are forgotten by the next generation, and completely forgotten by subsequent generations. Walk through a cemetary some day and find the oldest headstone with flowers, I'll bet it is no older than 30 years.

Scrapbook is kind of hard, we've never reaslly been photographic folks (due to our horribly disfugired appearances :D)

I intend to pass on the info though.

Thanks all.

My dad will be gone 15 years in March, and still, when I think about him sometimes, I cry because I miss him. I'm so sorry about your father, that must have been a very hard experience to go through.
