I used it for the first time this past week.

I actually JUST used it 5 mins ago, for the Compaq P910.
Bought it last week at CDW for $219 - today it's going for $148 at eCost :D
$219 + $22 shipping - $70 BVG = $170 shipped

So I've used it twice for savings of about $150.

I don't have an Amex Blue card but wish I did.

I would have milked it dry but I guess in the long run I ended up saving money because I didn't buy sh*t that I would never use.

Only used it twice. Once for my 1.4ghz Tbird when it dropped $10, and the other time for the Visioneer 8100 scanner.

Just curious but when you pricematch with AMEX blue, is your account instantly credited the amount difference or do they send you a check or something like that?

I only used it once :( I used it on the Staples Visioneer 8100 scanner deal. I am sad to see it go. I can't believe how well BVG worked and how efficient it was.

one of my best deals:

bought a Denon 2802 from crotchfield $800 + $13 shipping
$100 back from MSN holiday reward
AMEX PM to AMDV.com for $560

final price
~$475, while retaining the manufacturer's warranty since Crotchfield is an "Authorized Dealer"

only used it one other time

The question is: should we organize a massive Anandtech walk-out in protest of the cancellation? Is there any reason to have a Blue card except for price protection? I can't think of any...

I think there's a few.
They accept returns beyond the return date of the store's policy.
They extend the warranty provided by the store/manufacturer (?).

I'm sure there's more.

BLUE is a great card.

first, its american express, second, online fraud guarantee, third return anything, fourth is extended warranty, fifth is free membership rewards, sixth is one time use #'s.. good apr..

add to the list.

anyhow.. ill probably transfer my line of credit to optima platinum after i pay off my balance.

I've used it at least 12 times that I can think of. I matched my Insprion 8100 because they offered a MIR when I bought it and then a few weeks later they dropped the rebate and lowered the price, so I matched it and still got my $150 rebate. I used it quite a bit when I found a price error on the web for something I bought already and you pretty much knew that the error wasn't going to be honored by the store, just print out the page with a date on it from my printer and then call it in. I did that back when CompUSA had a "close out" of their 64MB Sony memory sticks and got 3 for $15ish. :) It was a very nice program and it was the only reason I actually got that card, so I will be closing this account and maybe getting the Optima or another card that offers the BVG program. :) This card was great to get computer components with because you could buy from a well known store and then BVG with a "no name" store.
