In the US, the disparity between poor and rich are growing.

And with record budget problems, states cant sustain social programs for the poor.

How soon do you think before the poor in the US start to riot?

I say before the 2016 Presidental election.

the rich aren't stupid, they'll make sure that the poor can at least buy xboxes, flat screen tv's, and a value meal at McDonalds.

The average American doesn't have the independent ability to reason themselves into revolt, they just do what they're told or manipulated into believing.

Revolutions are most often started or pushed along by the academics, and intelligent oppressed people.

As long as there is a fed govt and they have paper, ink and electricity, the checks will not stop. But when checks 2/3 of Americans depend on to eat become worthless all hell will break lose. Who knows when that will happen? But it's happened see Wiemar/Zimbabwe who thought they could print forever.

this. As long as people are pacified they have no knowledge or will to be upset.

Oh and it's not just poor people. there are 22,000,000 govt employees. 15,000,000 retired govt. 35,000,000 work for govt contractors. How much of Wal marts profit and subsequent employees comes from social security and welfare checks spent there? And so on and so forth. 1/2 of our GDP is govt spending 2/3 depend on it. Dollar becoming fire starter would for sure cause revolution.

Well the Weimar Republic failed for several reasons, none more prevalent than the fact that the Treaty that ended WW1 effectively neutered Germany's industrial capacity and plunged Germany into destitution.

Then a guy named Hitler came along, got thrown in jail a few times, blamed the jews, galvanized the people against the puppet German Govt.. and then tried to rick roll the world.

Zimbabwe is just a mess on its own.

Too many drugs (both legal and illegal) and lack of education will prevent any such rioting here. Even IF these dumb druggies could kick their habits the tea baggers will have a tea party of their own, and dump prozac into your drinking water.

Highest gap since the 1920's. And growing bigger every year. Thanks to both sides of our lawmakers in local, state, and federal.

Yet its meaningless when the "poorest" of the "poor" have it better off than 99.9% of the world.

We are no where near the need to start rioting. If it happens we will, but right now things could be much worse and we are still pushing forward. Jobs will be created, but IMO we need to figure out how to manage our budget/cut spending and raise taxes. Then we can attack our foreign, economic and social policies to push for the creation of jobs and wealth.

You know what the biggest problem in the world is? Stupidity pays off. Stupid people making boatloads of money. There is no incentive to become educated when you pay people exorbitant amounts of money to run into each other on purpose on a playing field. Even most animals (short of rams) have enough sense not to run into each other on purpose. Also, gambling is a pastime not a career (ahem wall st.)

I'm not sure Egypt is a Have/Have Nots situation. From what I've heard the anger is from all Economic Classes. Certainly the Economic hard times are part of the motivation, but it kinda looks like Egypt has just had enough of the status quo.

Most of this is being fueled by Al Qaeda and its affiliates such as the Muslim Brotherhood.

Its pretty simple actually. Instead of attacking targets in the US it is far more effective (and easier) to impact the US economically by overthrowing these countries.
