In any event, won't this whole problem go away if we just throw Wilson in jail for a couple of years? Wouldn't it be worth it to avoid the rioting and mayhem? I get the feeling that the violence will never stop until we as a nation do something to punish Wilson (regardless of whether he did anything wrong or not).

Wilson (and every cop on the beat) need to be reminded that they serve the community. They aren't an occupied army.

There are uniformed police guarding the place I work at, in addition to plainclothes private security. Whenever a black person comes by, they are extra hostile. But when it's someone who is white or Asian, they're treated differently, as if the blacks don't belong there but others do. It doesn't matter if they're dressed in a three piece suit or delivering a certified letter. It's wrong no matter how you look at it. This inbred bias that blacks are "thugs" or dangerous dates back hundreds of years and it's part of the reason why they have a problem with police.

Look at a kid like Adrian Peterson's. Take away the fame and all you have is a guy who runs around fucking everything that he sees and beats the shit out of his kids whom he barely knows. Where did he learn that? From his father who beat him and was in prison.

You can't pretend that this isn't their problem, it is. But instead of facing it they would rather make excuses, like "hands up don't shoot", the fucking idiot DIDN'T HAVE HIS HANDS UP.
