I found this on another forum..you guys might like it!! I think it's a hot deal.

Get a Rio500 MP3 Player for $49 after $50 manufacturers mail-in rebate -
thats 80% off the $269 price, went you join Audible Listener.

Go to www.audible.com.

EDIT: AudibleListener membership is $12.95/month. But they didn't mention anything about how long you have to stay a member. So cancel after the first month I suppose. Total comes out to be $61.95. Which is still very good I think.

That sucks with one year membership. Sorry everyone, couldn't find the fine print when I was looking...

I didn't read the fine print, but in the past, these Audible deals usually contain a clause about purchasing a book "contract" for a year or more.

Just be careful here.

Not a good deal if you have to stay with that membership. That's another $155 down the hole.

I think there is a way to get out of these deals. My friend did it accidentally when he had signed up for a book club, but his credit card expired before they could charge him, so he got his free gifts, but was never charged. I don't know if this works in all cases or if it is entirely ethical. But if you really don't like these guys, I suppose you could.

It really depends on your view of ethics. Certainly on this forum, must of us are ethical operators, but many of the companies we deal with attempt to offer deals through entrapment, false advertising, and misleading statements. Are we really that "evil" for simply exploiting their mistakes (witness some of staples, dartek, recently nba.com) deals where they would offer a good deal, only to cancel it later when people (who trusted them completely) try to order? To a degree, we all try to maximize our personal gain, and the extents of these efforts should only be questioned within ourselves by what is acceptable and what is not. For those individuals who feel that this behavior is acceptable, they should be all means take advantage of this fact, as long as they remain within the boundaries of the law.

sigh... this is sure a goofy forum... to get the rio for $49 is a great deal if u were looking to do the audible.com thing anyways... i think the package definitely qualifies as a "sorta, kinda, more than tepid but maybe not thermo-nuclear, like, conditionally hot" deal...

maybe y'all ought to generate a primer on what y'all have dictated as the requisites for the temperature of a deal instead of spending cycles figuring out how to defraud the vendor or the cc company...
