I've had this mp3 player for two years after I picked it up from audible.com, and I believe its the best solid state mp3 player ever. I currently use it with a 128 meg smartmedia card (not officially supported but all 128 meg smartmedia works) and the exceptional Riositude program (a cool program that makes internal and external memory appear in one solid block so you don't have to sort mp3's on them separately). Its got 64 mb on board, id3 support, backlight, and 15 hours on one AA battery. It also plays audible.com content. Out of all the mp3 players I've owned (Rio 300, 500, 800, Intel Pocket Concert, Nomad, Nomad II) its the only one I have kept, and the only one that was exceptional in what I purchased it for... mp3 playback. Its loud as hell.

good find. i have this player now, and it's a LOT better than the POS D-link that i bought and returned to Best Buy!! Plus, 50 bucks for 64MB player is HOT!!!

Anyone look into whether or not this is new or refurbed? I read that the model number is the same as the one sold on Outpost.com which is a refurbed Rio 500

I'm pretty confident it's retail. They also have a 300 and it specifically says, in bold lettering, that it is a refurb...

This is a great MP3 player, I own this one, the silver one. Recommend getting rechargeable batteries, they'll come in handy, especially if you use it a lot.
