rims for civ

Rims are cool. Just don't get a body kit or any radical paint job.

Performance wise, I would go with some 16-17" alloys.

A Civic isn't really a sports car in any way, though. Everything about them from how they accelerate, handle, or look screams economy.

i wudn't go above 17" anything else is really meant for trucks n just looks plain wrong. DON'T get the ones thet keep spinnin when u stop on a car.

aren't the stock ones 13 or 14"? please explain how 17-19 would look good on a car designed for 13-14.

I would say 15-16 MAX.

But do whatever you want..

You gotta look phat in them 20" rims! Then you can add the huge spoiler and the mad neon paint job and cruise with that chrome fart pipe letting all those teenage asian chicks know you are so cool. You are the man.

nevermind, same size wheels (15")
w/ 17s you will need a 45 or 50 series tire (205/45/17 would work best) and with 18s you will need a 35 or 40. that thin of a tire will make it look like your car is raised. your car's wheel well gap will be more noticeable with 17s but it won't be as bad as 18s.

anyways, you could go larger if you really wanted to.

Why 205? The stock tires on my 240sx were 205 and they were narrow. Not like the 215 on there now is any better. Wheels on the car are 16x6.5. If I ever got new wheels, which I wouldn't, they would be 17x7 or 17x8 (or 7 in the front, 8 in the rear). But 205 may be plenty of rubber for a Civic. I don't know.

I'm not sure about the current gen civics, but the problem with Honda's is that their double wishbone suspensions have typically limited you to a 205 or 215 treadwith. The wheels I got for my 4th gen Accord are as wide as I could safely go, 17x7.5 shot with 205/45R17s. And really, even with my upgraded suspension, 205 is wide enough to let me really throw the car around.
