rimm = rambus = rdram?

correct, you need to buy rambus ram aka pc600, pc700, pc800

pc800 being the fastest at 400mhz ddr (800mhz effectively, hence the name pc800)

rimm stands for rambus inline memory module

oh man an 820 huh? read this for more info about your board. i think you can actually attach a hub to it so you can take SDRAM but it's so slooooow...much slower than a BX with SDRAM.

ahhhh 820, first you might have gotten a 128MB RIMM with that mobo, I seem to remember seeing it being sold with a RIMM. Yeaha, RIMM = Rambus Inline Memory Module, just as a DIMM = Dual Inline Memory Module. I wouldn't get the SDRAM converter, because there was some severe problems when using the MTH that made the RIMM slot take SDRAM so I'd say just pick up a 128MB PC800 RIMM, but performance will be worse than a BX with PC133.
